There were 7.2 million job openings at the end of July, according to the latest JOLT survey from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. This was the 17th straight month that the number of job openings was higher than the number of job seekers, which is 6 million. The employment report from August showed employers added 130,000 jobs and the unemployment rate held at 3.7 percent.
